Grace and Peace Magazine proudly enters phone app culture with the release of bobble head likenesses of John Wesley, Phineas Bresee, Uncle Buddy Robinson, and Mildred Bangs Wynkoop. Each likeness is poised to entertain
and educate Nazarene clergy and laity. Apps for the bobble heads will allow users to hear audio of familiar quotes, sayings, or hymns. Short video interviews will explain each person’s contribution to the Church of the Nazarene. “We’ve developed these apps as a fun way for Nazarene clergy to interact with their history and heritage,” explained Bryon McLaughlin, executive editor for Grace and Peace Magazine. “Part of knowing the Nazarene story lies in knowing the people and the sayings that were helpful in shaping our movement. Putting these likenesses into an app format expands our ability to tell our story in relevant and creative ways to a new generation.” Each bobble head has been painstakingly developed, and their likeness has been authenticated by the Nazarene Archives. The bobble heads will continue to appear in the magazine, website, and e-mail communication of Grace and Peace Magazine. All four bobble heads are also available for retail purchase. More than eight in 10 people in the U.S. now have cell phones, and 35 percent of users have one or more apps on their devices.
